A Spacious Safe for a Bedroom Wardrobe

London & Home Counties Safes supplied and professionally installed a Bloomsbury 40K Size 4 Digital Safe for a customer in Highgate, North London N6.

The customer wanted a larger home safe with enough room for jewellery boxes, watches, cash, passports, documents and other personal valuables, while keeping the unit discreetly concealed within the bedroom furniture.

The Size 4 provided a useful balance between generous internal capacity and dimensions suitable for the available wardrobe compartment.

Independently Certified to EN 14450 S2

The Bloomsbury 40K Size 4 is independently attack-tested and certified by ICIM to EN 14450 S2.

It has a recommended insurance rating of £4,000 for cash or £40,000 for valuables.

70 Litres of Organised Storage

The Size 4 measures 487mm high, 435mm wide and 405mm deep externally. Its internal dimensions are 470mm high, 420mm wide and 345mm deep.

The safe weighs 61kg and provides approximately 70 litres of internal capacity.

One removable shelf divides the interior into two practical storage levels and can be taken out when taller items need to be accommodated.

Fitted Inside the Bedroom Wardrobe

The safe was positioned inside an existing fitted wardrobe in the customer’s bedroom, placing it outside the immediate line of sight while keeping it convenient to access.

The installation position was checked carefully to ensure that the safe door, handle and flush electronic keypad could be operated without catching the wardrobe doors or surrounding woodwork.

The wardrobe location provided suitable fixing opportunities both through the rear of the safe and through its base.

Four Expanding Anchor Bolts into the Rear Wall

The principal structural fixings were four expanding anchor bolts installed through all four of the safe’s rear fixing holes.

The anchors passed through the rear wardrobe panel and into the wall behind the fitted furniture.

These four rear anchors created the main structural connection and helped resist the safe being pulled forward, tilted or prised away from its installed position.

Four Additional Screws into the Wooden Wardrobe Base

All four base fixing holes were also used, with four screws securing the underside of the safe to the wooden wardrobe base.

These supporting furniture fixings reduced movement at the base and worked together with the stronger rear wall anchoring.

The completed installation therefore used eight fixing points: four expanding anchors into the wall and four additional screws into the wardrobe woodwork.

Electronic Lock Setup and Customer Handover

After the fixing work had been completed, the electronic keypad and locking mechanism were checked.

We showed the customer how to programme their own personal code of between six and ten digits and asked them to open and relock the safe to confirm that they were comfortable using it.

The external battery power point was explained, and the customer was advised to keep the emergency override keys securely in a separate location away from the safe.

Final Inspection and Cleanup

Before completing the installation, we checked the safe’s stability, door movement and keypad operation.

Packaging, drilling debris and installation materials were removed, leaving the bedroom wardrobe and surrounding area clean and ready for use.
