Fitting the Safe Neatly Into the Bedroom Wardrobe
For this installation in Hungerford, Berkshire, the customer had chosen a Brattonsound Sentinel Plus SL5+ gun safe and wanted it fitted discreetly hidden inside a bedroom wardrobe.
The proposed position allowed the safe to sit upright against the rear wall of the wardrobe, but the skirting board behind it prevented the safe from sitting as close to the wall as possible.
Our installer therefore carefully trimmed the section of skirting directly behind the safe. Removing only the required section allowed the rear of the safe to sit back near the wall while keeping the rest of the wardrobe and skirting neat.
Four Wall Fixings and Two Floor Fixings
After marking and drilling the fixing points, the safe was re-poisitoned and aligned, it was then secured through the rear using four expanding anchor bolts into the wall behind the wardrobe.
The installation was then reinforced through the base of the safe using two heavy coach screws. These passed through the carpet and into the wooden floor beneath, giving the safe additional fixing at floor level.
Using both rear and base fixing points gave the safe six secure fixings in total, while the trimmed skirting allowed it to sit neatly back within the wardrobe rather than standing unnecessarily forward with a gap behind.
Finished, Checked and Ready for Use
The Brattonsound Sentinel Plus SL5+ is a tall, narrow gun safe with a lockable ammo box at the top, the safe is designed to provide secure storage without taking up excessive floor space, making it well suited to positions such as this bedroom wardrobe.
After the fixing work was complete, our installer cleaned the surrounding area and demonstrated the locking system to the customer.
Before leaving, the installer made sure the customer was comfortable using the safe and gave them their certificate of installation.
