A Compact Gun Safe Positioned in a Bedroom Corner
For this installation in Bicester, Oxfordshire, our customer required a gun safe but wanted it to take up the least amount of space in the room, we suggested the Brattonsound Sentinel ST3 Gun Safe due to it's narrow size.
The ST3 is a compact 2 to 3 gun safe, measuring 1308mm high, 216mm wide and 204mm deep, making it particularly useful where the available installation space is relatively narrow.
The chosen position was in the corner of the room, allowing the safe to sit against both walls while still remaining straightforward for the customer to access and taking up less space.
Trimming the Skirting to Sit the Safe Tight Into the Corner
Before fixing could begin, the skirting board on both walls needed to be dealt with. Left in place, the skirting would have held the safe away from the walls and created an unnecessary gap on both sides behind it.
Our installer carefully trimmed the skirting at the two points where the safe met the corner, removing only the sections necessary for the installation.
This allowed the Brattonsound safe to be positioned as close as possible to both walls, giving a much neater finished appearance and putting the rear of the safe in the correct position for the wall fixings.
Four Rear Anchors and Two Base Coach Screws
After drilling into the marked points on the walls, the safe was repositioned to sit tightly into the corner, our installer then secured it to the wall with 4 expanding anchor bolts.
Two additional fixings were then made through the base of the safe and into the wooden floor beneath using coach screws.
Using both the rear and base fixing points gave the installation six secure fixings in total, while the trimmed skirting allowed the safe to remain neatly positioned close to the surrounding walls.
Finished, Cleaned and Handed Over
Once the fixing work was complete, our installer cleaned the work area and showed the customer how to operate the two key locks and advised how to keep the keys safe.
Before leaving, our installer made sure the customer was comfortable with the safe and gave them their certificate of installation.
