A Eurograde 0 Safe Fitted Inside a Lounge Wardrobe
A customer required a Euro Grade 0 safe installed in their lounge but in a hidden location. We recommended a Burton Home Safe G0 (Size 3E) Digital Safe, a certified Eurograde 0 safe offering a recommended insurance rating of £6,000 for cash or £60,000 for valuables.
After surveying the property we advised on fitting the safe inside the lounge wardrobe, keeping it tucked away from view while still leaving enough room to use the door and keypad comfortably.
Once the exact position had been agreed, our installer planned a twin fixing arrangement using both the rear and base fixing points so the safe could be secured firmly within the wardrobe space.
Rear Fixing Through the Wardrobe and into Brickwork
The rear panel of the wardrobe had a brick wall behind it, making it possible to create a proper structural fixing rather than relying on the furniture alone.
After marking and drilling the fixing points, two expanding anchor bolts were installed through the rear of the safe, through the wardrobe back panel and into the brick wall behind. This gave the safe its principal fixing to the fabric of the building.
Using the wall behind the wardrobe in this way meant the safe could remain neatly hidden within the room while still benefiting from a proper masonry anchor.
Additional Base Fixing into the Wardrobe Floor
The base of the safe was also secured to the wardrobe’s timber base using two coach screws, providing an additional joinery fixing through the lower part of the safe.
This helped stabilise the safe within the wardrobe and complemented the rear wall anchors, giving the finished installation a solid and well-supported feel.
The Burton Home Safe G0 Size 3E measures 450mm high, 450mm wide and 400mm deep externally, weighs 118kg and provides 34 litres of internal storage with one removable shelf.
Finished, Demonstrated and Ready to Use
After the installation had been completed, our installer thoroughly cleaned any dust or installation debris that was left over.
Finally, the customer was shown how to operate and programme the electronic lock which allows 1 Master code and 8 user codes with 6 digit user programmable PIN codes. Our installer gave them their certificate of installation before leaving. The finished result was a neat Eurograde 0 installation that remained discreet within the lounge wardrobe while still being securely anchored to the fabric of the building.
