An S2 Rated Safe for a Study in Maresfield
For this installation in Maresfield, East Sussex, the customer required a medium sized safe with a digital locking mechanism, they chose a Burton Safes Torino S2 Size 3E Digital Safe to fit in the corner of their study.
The Torino Size 3E is independently certified to EN14450 S2 and carries recommended insurance ratings of £4,000 for cash and £40,000 for valuables. Its relatively compact proportions also made it well suited to the available position in the room.
Before fixing the safe, our installer checked the final position against the wall while marking the fixing points and established that the skirting board behind it would need a small section removed, so the rear of the safe could sit as close to the wall as possible.
Trimming the Skirting for a Closer Wall Position
The skirting board was carefully trimmed only across the width needed for the safe, removing this section of skirting board allowed the body of the safe to move further back towards the wall rather than being held forward by the thickness of the skirting board.
This gave a neater finished position and also reduced the distance between the rear of the safe and the structural wall behind it.
Four Expanding Anchor Bolts into the Brick Wall
The Burton Torino Size 3E has four pre-drilled rear fixing holes, and all four were used on this installation.
After drilling the four holes into the wall and cleaning the dust away, the safe repositioned and aligned and then secured using four expanding anchor bolts through the rear fixing holes.
With all four anchors tightened, the 47.5kg safe was firmly secured to the wall. The finished position kept the safe close to the rear wall while still leaving comfortable access to the flush-fitting digital keypad and door.
Finished, Cleaned and Demonstrated
The Burton Safes Torino S2 Size 3E provides 47 litres of internal storage and is supplied with one removable shelf, giving the customer useful space for household valuables and important items.
After the installation, our installer cleaned the remaining tools and debris from the work area.
The customer was then shown how to programme and operate the electronic keypad, how to use the emergency override keys if ever required, and how to store the keys. Before leaving, our installer gave the customer their certificate of installation.
