A Fire Safe for a Reception Area
Our customer in Welwyn Garden City needed a fire-resistant safe for a reception area, mainly to protect important paperwork, small valuables and everyday business items without taking up too much room. After discussing the level of fire protection they wanted and the available space, we recommended the Burton Safes Firebrand (Size 3) Digital Fire Safe as a sensible fit for the job.

The reception area had a straightforward installation position with a timber floor beneath, which meant the safe could be fixed neatly in place without it becoming an awkward obstruction in a busy part of the building.
Base Fixing into the Timber Floor
The Firebrand Size 3 is designed for base fixing, and on this job the safe was anchored through the base into the wooden floor using one coach bolt.
Once the safe had been positioned properly, our installer marked the fixing point, moved the safe away from the installation area to drill the floor. After cleaning away the drill dust, he repositioned the safe and then secured it firmly into place.
With the coach bolt tightened, the safe was held securely in its final position while leaving clear access to the door and keypad.
Positioned for Everyday Use
The Burton Safes Firebrand Size 3 weighs 51kg and has external dimensions of 510mm high, 445mm wide and 425mm deep. Internally it measures 410mm high, 340mm wide and 290mm deep, giving useful storage for documents and valuables without being overly bulky.
Its external battery arrangement is also a practical feature, as it helps avoid the all-too-familiar worry of a digital lock going flat at the wrong moment.
Code Set, Demonstrated and Ready to Go
After the installation was complete, our installer showed the customer how to set their digital lock code. That final handover is always worth doing properly, as a safe is far more useful when the customer feels confident using it straight away.
Before leaving, our installer gave the customer their certificate of installation. The finished result was a neat and practical fire-safe installation, ready to protect important contents from both theft and fire.
