Burton Torino S2 Size 2E Digital Safe Installed in Muswell Hill, North London
(case study 01362)
Why the Burton Torino S2 Size 2E Was Recommended
London & Home Counties Safes recently supplied and professionally installed a Burton Torino S2 Size 2E Digital Safe for a homeowner in Muswell Hill, within the London Borough of Haringey and the N10 postcode area.
The customer required a compact security safe for jewellery, watches, cash, passports, important documents and other household valuables.
The Torino is independently attack-tested and certified to EN 14450 S2 and is normally assigned a recommended insurance rating of £4,000 for cash or £40,000 for valuables. Customers should confirm the required security level, monetary rating and installation conditions with their own insurer before purchasing.
The Size 2E measures 277mm high, 403mm wide and 355mm deep externally. Its internal dimensions are 260mm high, 390mm wide and 295mm deep, providing 31 litres of storage capacity. The safe weighs 35.5kg and includes one removable shelf.
Safe Installed Directly onto a Concrete Floor
The safe was positioned directly onto the grey concrete floor shown in the photographs.
Before installation, the available space, floor condition, safe-door clearance and access route were checked to ensure that the safe could be positioned and operated correctly.
Four Expanding Anchors Used
Four expanding anchors were installed through the safe’s four base fixing holes and into the concrete floor beneath it.
Using all four base fixing points distributed the anchoring arrangement across the underside of the safe and provided a firm installation on the concrete substrate.
The four concrete-floor anchors provided a substantial structural fixing and helped resist movement, levering and removal. Customers should confirm any particular fixing requirements with their own insurer.
Electronic Keypad and Emergency Override Keys
The safe is operated using a battery-powered electronic keypad with a user-changeable personal access code.
The electronic-lock version is also supplied with emergency override keys, providing a backup method of opening the lock. These keys should be stored securely away from the safe rather than inside it.
The removable internal shelf allows jewellery boxes, watches, passports, cash and documents to be organised across two practical storage levels.
Customer Handover and Battery Guidance
Once the installation was complete, we removed the tools and packaging and cleaned the surrounding work area.
We then demonstrated the electronic keypad, helped the customer programme their personal access code and showed them the normal locking and unlocking procedure.
We also demonstrated the emergency override keys, explained how to use the external battery-power facility if the internal batteries become depleted and reminded the customer to keep the keys securely away from the safe.

About Muswell Hill, North London
Muswell Hill is a North London district within the London Borough of Haringey and the N10 postcode area. It occupies elevated ground north of Highgate and Crouch End.
The area developed from a rural village into a largely Edwardian suburb. Much of its present street pattern and architectural character was established during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
The name Muswell Hill is believed to derive from a spring known as the “mossy well”, historically associated with land granted to the Priory of St Mary during the twelfth century.
Nearby Alexandra Palace first opened during the nineteenth century and later became closely associated with the development of television broadcasting in Britain.
Muswell Hill is an important North London service area for London & Home Counties Safes. We supply and professionally install home safes, jewellery safes and higher-security safes throughout Muswell Hill, Highgate, Crouch End, East Finchley and surrounding N10 districts.
