Burton Torino S2 Size 3E Digital Safe Fitted in South Oxfordshire
(case study 01429)
We recently travelled to South Oxfordshire, specifically the RG9 area, to help a client who needed a secure but discreet way to store their valuables. For this project, we selected the Burton Torino S2 Size 3E Digital Safe. It’s a fantastic choice for modern homes because it is EN 14450 S2 rated, which means it’s insurance-approved for up to £4,000 in cash or £40,000 in valuables. The "Size 3" provides that extra bit of internal space, making it perfect for storing larger items like luxury watches, important documents, or family heirlooms while still fitting neatly into a residential setting.
What made this particular South Oxfordshire safe installation interesting was the location. The client wanted the safe integrated into their existing shelving to keep it hidden and out of the way. To ensure it was completely immovable, we used a dual-fixing method: we utilized four holes in the back of the safe to drive heavy-duty expanding anchors directly into the solid brick wall, and then used the four base holes to screw the unit firmly into the shelving wood. This combination of wall and floor/shelf anchoring ensures a incredibly secure fit that meets strict insurance standards, giving the homeowner total peace of mind that their safe isn't going anywhere.
Once the installation was finished, we cleared up the work area and explained to the client about the safe's features. We showed them how to set their personal 6-digit PIN code and demonstrated the use of the emergency override keys, which are a lifesaver if the batteries ever run flat or the code is forgotten. We always make sure our customers feel 100% confident operating their safe before we leave the site. Henley-on-Thames is an historic market town in South Oxfordshire, located on the left bank of the River Thames at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. It is approximately 9 miles northeast of Reading and 37 miles west of London, sitting near the junction of Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire. The town is remarkably accessible by rail, with regular services from Henley-on-Thames Railway Station connecting to London Paddington via Twyford, while the M4 and M40 motorways provide easy road access for visitors from across the south of England. The town’s history dates back to at least the 12th century, with its first recorded mention in 1179 when King Henry II purchased land for new buildings. Its strategic position on the river facilitated a prosperous trade in grain, malt, and timber, which was further bolstered by the granting of a Royal Charter and the establishment of a regular market. A key architectural milestone was the completion of the current Henley Bridge in 1786, a five-arched stone structure that replaced an earlier wooden crossing. In 1839, the town hosted the first Henley Royal Regatta, an event that evolved from a local festival into one of the most prestigious rowing competitions in the world, firmly cementing the town’s association with the sport.
