Burton Torino S2 Size 3E Digital Safe Installed in Shelving in Henley-on-Thames

(case study 01429)

Why the Burton Torino S2 Size 3E Was Recommended

London & Home Counties Safes recently supplied and professionally installed a Burton Torino S2 Size 3E Digital Safe for a homeowner in the Henley-on-Thames area of South Oxfordshire RG9. The customer required a discreet but accessible safe for jewellery, watches, cash, passports, important documents and other household valuables.

The Torino is independently tested and certified to EN 14450 S2 and is normally assigned a recommended insurance rating of £4,000 for cash or £40,000 for valuables. Customers should confirm the required security level, monetary rating and installation conditions with their own insurer before purchasing.

The Size 3E measures 345mm high, 473mm wide and 355mm deep externally. Its internal dimensions are 330mm high, 460mm wide and 295mm deep, providing 47 litres of storage capacity. The safe weighs 47.5kg and includes one removable shelf. Click any photograph to view a larger version.

Safe Installed Within Existing Shelving

The safe was positioned within the customer’s existing shelving, keeping it discreetly located while allowing convenient access to the electronic keypad and safe door.

The low, wide dimensions of the Size 3E made effective use of the available shelf space without requiring a separate position elsewhere in the room.

Four Rear Anchors into a Solid Brick Wall

We used all four pre-drilled rear fixing holes and installed four heavy-duty expanding anchors through the rear of the safe and into the solid brick wall behind the shelving.

These four rear wall anchors provided the principal structural fixings and helped resist the safe being pulled or levered away from the wall.

Four Additional Screws into the Wooden Shelving Base

Four additional screws were installed through the safe’s four base fixing holes and into the wooden shelving base directly beneath the safe.

These wooden-base screws provided additional stability and helped prevent the safe moving within the shelving unit. Together, all eight available fixing points were used.

Removable Red Shelf and Electronic Lock

The safe includes one removable shelf with a thick red-painted finish that does not scratch easily. It creates two practical storage levels for jewellery boxes, watches, passports, cash and important documents.

Electronic Lock Setup and Customer Handover

Once the installation was complete and the work area had been tidied, we demonstrated the electronic keypad. We helped the customer programme their personal access code and showed them the normal locking and unlocking procedure.

We also demonstrated the emergency override keys and explained how to use the external battery-power point if the internal batteries become depleted. Override keys should be stored securely away from the safe rather than inside it.

The completed installation provided the homeowner with an EN 14450 S2 security safe, discreetly positioned within the shelving and professionally secured using four structural brick-wall anchors and four additional wooden-base screws.

About Henley-on-Thames

Henley-on-Thames is a historic riverside market town in South Oxfordshire within the RG9 postcode district. Its development was closely connected with trade along the River Thames.

The first known written reference to Henley dates from the twelfth century, when land was acquired for new buildings. The town later developed as a market and river-trading centre for grain, malt, timber and other goods.

The present Henley Bridge was completed during the eighteenth century. The five-arched stone bridge links Oxfordshire and Berkshire across the River Thames and incorporates part of an earlier crossing.

Henley Royal Regatta was first held in 1839 as a local festival and later developed into an internationally recognised rowing event closely associated with the town.

Henley-on-Thames and the surrounding South Oxfordshire area are important service locations for London & Home Counties Safes. We supply and professionally install home safes, jewellery safes and higher-security safes throughout Henley, Shiplake, Sonning Common, Nettlebed, Watlington and surrounding RG9 districts.
