Why the Burton Eurovault Aver Grade 1 Size 2 Was Recommended

London & Home Counties Safes supplied and professionally installed a Burton Eurovault Aver LFS Grade 1 Size 2 Digital Safe for a customer in Westminster, Central London SW1P.

The installation took place inside a mid-1930s Art Moderne residential building designed by T.P. Bennett & Sons. The customer required a high-security safe with dimensions suitable for an existing cupboard inside the apartment.

The Eurovault Aver is independently tested and certified to EN 1143-1 Grade 1 and is normally assigned a recommended insurance rating of £10,000 for cash or £100,000 for valuables. It is also certified to EN 15659 LFS 30P, providing up to 30 minutes’ fire protection for paper documents.

Customers should confirm the required security grade, monetary rating and installation conditions with their own insurer before purchasing.

This installation featured an earlier version of the Burton Eurovault Aver Grade 1 Size 2. The current model has since been updated, so customers should refer to the present product page for the latest specifications.

Safe Installed Inside an Existing Cupboard

The safe was positioned inside the existing cupboard, where the earlier Size 2 model fitted neatly beneath the available shelving while remaining accessible for normal use.

Before installation, the cupboard space, safe-door clearance, solid brick wall and raised plinth were checked to ensure that the safe could be positioned and operated correctly.

Bolted into the Solid Brick Wall

The safe was bolted into the solid brick wall at the back of the cupboard. This wall fixing provided the principal structural restraint and helped resist the safe being pulled or levered away from its installed position.

Additional Fixing into the Raised Plinth

The safe was also screwed into the raised plinth beneath it. This additional fixing helped stabilise the base and keep the safe firmly positioned inside the cupboard.

Securing the safe in two directions helped resist movement away from the wall and across the plinth.

Grade 1 Security and LFS 30P Paper-Fire Protection

The safe’s EN 1143-1 Grade 1 certification relates to burglary resistance, while its separate EN 15659 LFS 30P certification provides tested fire protection for paper documents.

The internal shelf allows jewellery boxes, watches, passports, cash, legal papers and other valuables to be organised across two practical storage levels.

Electronic Lock Setup and Customer Handover

Once the safe had been installed, we demonstrated the high-security electronic lock and showed the customer how to operate the safe normally.

We explained how to programme and change the customer’s personal PIN code and how to replace the battery when required.

Installation Certificate Provided

After cleaning the cupboard and surrounding work area, we provided the customer with an installation certificate. The certificate recorded the exact safe supplied and the method used to secure it, allowing the customer to retain clear documentation for their insurer.
