We recently headed over to Ealing (W5) in West London for a discreet safe installation tailored to a modern home. The client selected the Burton Safes Torino S2 (Size 3E) Digital Safe, a robust and reliable choice for securing high-value personal items. This unit is officially EN 14450 S2 rated, meaning it is insurance-approved to protect up to £4,000 in cash or £40,000 in valuables. With an internal capacity of 47 litres and a weight of 47.5kg, it provides ample room for jewellery, passports, and electronics without requiring excessive floor space.

As shown in the photos, we expertly integrated the safe into a kitchen cupboard unit. This "hidden-in-plain-sight" approach is ideal for urban apartments where space is at a premium. To ensure the installation met strict insurance standards, we utilized the safe’s four rear fixing holes and four base fixing holes to perform a comprehensive professional safe bolt-down. By anchoring the unit both into the solid wall behind the cupboard and through the base of the cabinetry, we created a dual-point security fix that makes unauthorized removal virtually impossible.

The interior of the Size 3E features an adjustable shelf and a carpet lining on the base, which prevents delicate items from being scratched. Once the safe was perfectly levelled and secured, we walked the client through the programming of their digital electronic lock and the use of the emergency override keys. Ealing, often specifically identified by its central W5 postcode, is a major suburban district located in West London within the London Borough of Ealing. It is situated approximately 8 miles west of Charing Cross and acts as a significant commercial and cultural hub for the region. The area is bordered by Acton to the east, Hanwell to the west, and Park Royal to the north. Ealing Broadway serves as the primary transport interchange, offering exceptional connectivity via the Central and District lines of the London Underground, as well as the Elizabeth Line, which provides rapid transit to the West End, the City, and Heathrow Airport. This accessibility has made it one of the most desirable residential and business locations in West London. Historically, Ealing was a rural parish in the county of Middlesex, comprised of several small hamlets surrounded by open countryside and market gardens that supplied London with produce. Its identity shifted dramatically in the 19th century with the arrival of the Great Western Railway, which prompted rapid Victorian development. During this era, Ealing earned the nickname "Queen of the Suburbs" due to its lush greenery, well-planned residential streets, and its position halfway between the crowded city and the rural west. A defining pillar of the area's history is the establishment of Ealing Studios in 1902. As the oldest continuously working film studio in the world, it became the heart of the British film industry, particularly famous for the "Ealing Comedies" produced in the 1940s and 50s, such as The Lavender Hill Mob and Kind Hearts and Coronets. For visitors, the crown jewel of Ealing is Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, the former country residence of the visionary architect Sir John Soane. The manor has been meticulously restored to showcase Soane’s innovative use of light and space, while the adjacent gallery hosts major contemporary art exhibitions. The manor sits within Walpole Park, a vast Grade II listed Victorian park that features ornamental lakes, rose gardens, and serves as the primary venue for the Ealing Summer Festivals, including famous jazz, blues, and beer festivals. The town centre at Ealing Broadway offers a vibrant mix of high-street retail and independent dining, particularly around the Dickens Yard development. Cultural enthusiasts also frequent the Questors Theatre, one of the largest community theatres in Europe. Furthermore, the area’s rich diverse heritage is reflected in its culinary scene and local landmarks like the Polish church and various historic pubs that have served the community for generations.
