For this safe installation we delivered and installed the safe to the town of Copcut, located in Droitwich, Worcestershire (WR9). This destination was out of our usual service area of Zones A & B and normally only free delivery would be available. However in this instance, the client required fitting as well, so we agreed to a fee for delivery and installation. For this project, the homeowner selected the Burton Safes Torino S2 (Size 4E) Digital Safe. As the largest model in the Torino S2 range, the Size 4E is an excellent home security upgrade for those needing extra internal volume for bulkier items or larger document folders. It is officially EN 14450 S2 insurance approved, providing certified protection for up to £4,000 in cash or £40,000 in valuables.

As shown in the pictures, we utilized an under-stairs storage area for the installation. This is a prime location for a safe as it uses otherwise dead space and keeps the unit tucked away from the main living areas. To ensure the safe met all insurance requirements and provided maximum physical security, we performed a professional safe bolt-down to the fabric of the building. The safe has to be flush to the fixing wall to be fully insurance compliant, so we trimmed the skirting board slightly for a flush fit. We anchored the unit through the four rear fixing holes to the wall under the stairs, creating a secure, permanent fixture that is highly resistant to prying or removal. The safe was also screwed into the floor using the four base fixing holes, for extra security. This meant that all eight fixing holes were being utilised for a more robust installation.

The Burton Torino S2 features a flush-fit door and a vibrant red-lined interior with an adjustable shelf, allowing for flexible organization of high-value assets. During the handover, we demonstrated the digital electronic lock and explained to the client how to set their personalized access code. We also highlighted the importance of the emergency override keys for rare situations where you might forget your PIN. Copcut is a residential locality situated on the southwestern edge of the historic town of Droitwich Spa, within the Wychavon district of Worcestershire. Falling under the WR9 postcode, it is strategically positioned along the A38 Worcester Road, which serves as a primary artery connecting the town to the city of Worcester, located roughly 6 miles to the south. The area is highly accessible for motorists due to its proximity to the M5 motorway, while rail travellers can utilize Droitwich Spa railway station, which offers regular services to Birmingham, Worcester, and the wider West Midlands. Its location marks a transition between the suburban sprawl of Droitwich and the rolling rural landscapes of the Worcestershire countryside. The history of Copcut is inextricably linked to the salt-rich heritage of Droitwich Spa, an area that has been exploited for its brine springs since Roman times. The name "Copcut" itself is thought to have topographical origins, potentially referring to a "copped" or rounded hill or a specific wood-cutting area. For centuries, Copcut remained largely agricultural, consisting of farmsteads and open fields that supported the local economy. Its most famous landmark was the original Copcut Elm, a magnificent and ancient tree that served as a local meeting point and navigator's aid for generations. The tree eventually gave its name to the historic Copcut Elm pub, a classic timber-framed building that remains a focal point of the community today. In the 21st century, the area has undergone a significant transformation from rural land into a major residential hub, particularly with the development of the Copcut Rise estate, which has modernized the local landscape while attempting to preserve the green corridors that define the region. While Copcut is primarily a residential and gateway area, it offers easy access to some of Worcestershire's most unique attractions. The Copcut Elm pub is a destination in its own right for those seeking the atmosphere of a traditional English inn with historic architectural character. Just a short distance away, visitors can explore the wonders of Droitwich Spa, including the Droitwich Spa Lido, one of the few remaining inland open-air saltwater pools in the UK, which utilizes the town's famous natural brine. Nature enthusiasts and walkers frequently use Copcut as a starting point to access the Droitwich Barge Canal and the Droitwich Junction Canal, which form a picturesque 21-mile circular waterway known as the Mid-Worcestershire Ring. For a deeper dive into local history, the nearby Church of the Sacred Heart and St Catherine of Alexandria in Droitwich is renowned for its stunning, world-class mosaic interiors. Additionally, the National Trust’s Hanbury Hall, a magnificent William and Mary house with restored 18th-century gardens, is only a short drive to the east, offering a glimpse into the aristocratic life of the region's past.
