Why the Burton Torino S2 Size 4E Was Recommended

London & Home Counties Safes recently delivered and professionally installed a Burton Safes Torino S2 Size 4E Digital Safe for a homeowner in Copcut, on the south-western side of Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire WR9.

At the time of booking, the property was outside our standard installation zones. Free delivery would normally have been available without fitting, but the customer also required professional installation, so a separate delivery and installation fee was agreed in advance.

The customer selected the Size 4E because they required additional internal capacity for jewellery, watches, cash, larger document folders and other household valuables. This model is independently tested and certified to EN 14450 S2 and is normally assigned a recommended insurance rating of £4,000 for cash or £40,000 for valuables. Customers should confirm the required security level, monetary rating and installation conditions with their own insurer before purchasing.

According to our current product listing, the safe measures 490mm high, 430mm wide and 400mm deep externally. Its internal dimensions are 470mm high, 420mm wide and 345mm deep, providing 68 litres of storage capacity. The safe weighs 62kg and includes one removable shelf. Under-Stairs Installation and Skirting Board Alteration

The safe was positioned within an under-stairs storage area, making practical use of space that might otherwise have remained unused. This kept the safe away from the main living areas while allowing convenient access for the homeowner.

Before fixing the safe, our installation team carefully trimmed a small section of the skirting board. This allowed the rear of the safe to sit flush against the wall beneath the stairs rather than standing forward from it.

The close fit produced a neater installation and reduced the accessible gap behind the safe, helping to limit potential leverage around the rear fixing area.

Four Rear Wall Anchors and Four Base Fixings

We used all four rear fixing holes and installed four heavy-duty anchors through the rear of the safe and into the wall beneath the staircase.

These four rear wall anchors provided the principal structural fixings and helped resist the safe being pulled or levered away from the wall.

Four additional heavy-duty screws were installed through the safe’s four base fixing holes and into the floor beneath it. These base fixings provided additional stability and helped keep the safe firmly positioned against the wall.

Together, the four rear wall anchors and four base screws created the original eight-point fixing arrangement used for this installation. The fixing method, number of fixings and under-stairs position have been retained exactly as completed.

Removable Red Shelf and Electronic Lock Handover

The Torino S2 Size 4E includes one removable shelf with a durable red-painted finish. The shelf helps divide the spacious interior and organise jewellery boxes, watches, cash, passports and larger document folders.

Once the physical installation was complete, we demonstrated the electronic keypad and helped the customer programme their personal access code. We also explained the normal locking and unlocking procedure.

The customer was shown how to use the emergency override keys and the external battery-power connection if the internal batteries become depleted. Override keys should be stored securely away from the safe rather than inside it.
