Why the Burton Torino S2 Size 3E Was Recommended

London & Home Counties Safes recently supplied and professionally installed a Burton Safes Torino S2 Size 3E Digital Safe for a homeowner in Waltham Abbey, Essex EN9. The customer required a spacious home safe for jewellery, watches, cash, passports, important documents and other valuables, positioned in the corner of a carpeted room.

This model is independently tested and certified to EN 14450 S2 and is normally assigned a recommended insurance rating of £4,000 for cash or £40,000 for valuables. Customers should confirm the required security level, monetary rating and installation conditions with their own insurer before purchasing.

The Size 3E measures 345mm high, 473mm wide and 355mm deep externally. Its internal dimensions are 330mm high, 460mm wide and 295mm deep, providing 47 litres of storage capacity. The safe weighs 47.5kg and includes one removable shelf. Click any photograph to view a larger version.

Safe Positioned in the Corner of a Carpeted Room

The safe was positioned neatly in the corner of the carpeted room, providing convenient access while making effective use of the available space.

Its low, wide dimensions provided useful internal capacity without requiring a tall installation position. Inside, the thickly painted red shelf provides a durable storage surface that does not scratch easily and helps organise jewellery boxes, watches, cash, passports and important documents.

Four Rear Wall Anchors and Four Base Fixings

The safe has four pre-drilled rear fixing holes, each measuring 12.5mm. We used all four rear fixing points and installed four heavy-duty anchors directly into the solid wall behind the safe.

These four rear wall anchors provided the principal structural fixing and helped resist the safe being levered or pulled away from the wall.

To complement the rear wall anchoring, four additional heavy-duty screws were installed through the safe’s four 12.5mm base fixing holes, through the carpet and into the floorboards beneath.

The four floorboard screws provided additional stability and helped keep the safe firmly positioned against the wall. Together, the four rear anchors and four base screws created the original eight-point fixing arrangement used for this installation.

Electronic Lock Setup and Customer Handover

Once the physical installation was complete, we cleaned the surrounding area and demonstrated the digital electronic keypad. We helped the customer programme their personal access code and showed them the normal locking and unlocking procedure.

We also explained how to use the emergency override keys and the external emergency-power connection in the event of a depleted internal battery. The override keys should always be stored securely away from the safe rather than inside it.

The completed installation provided the homeowner with a spacious EN 14450 S2 security safe, professionally secured to both the rear wall and the floorboards using all eight available fixing points.
