Eurograde 2 Digital Safe Installed in Lambeth SW4
(case study 03290)
A Eurograde 2 Safe for a Bedroom Cupboard
This installation was for a customer in Clapham Common, Lambeth who wanted a certified Eurograde II safe installed discreetly inside a bedroom cupboard.
The chosen model was the KeySecure VICTOR Grade 2 (Size 1E) Digital Safe, which carries recommended insurance ratings of £17,500 for cash and £175,000 for valuables.
At 450mm high, 450mm wide and 465mm deep, the Size 1E is relatively compact for a 109kg Euro Grade 2 safe, making it a good fit for the available cupboard space without taking over the room.
Anchored Through the Rear into the Brick Wall
Once the safe had been positioned, our installer marked the drill point in the brick wall and the screw point in the floor. After moving the safe away from the work area, our installer then drilled into the brick wall and swept away the dust before repositioning the safe for bolt down.
An expanding anchor bolt was used for the wall fixing, giving the safe a strong structural anchor into the fabric of the building.
A Second Fixing Through the Base
KeySecure VICTOR safes have two pre-drilled fixing holes, one in the rear and one in the base, and both were used on this installation.
After the rear wall anchor had been installed, a coach screw was fitted through the base fixing hole and into the wooden floor beneath the safe.
This gave the safe two fixing points — the expanding anchor bolt into the brick wall and the additional coach-screw fixing into the timber floor, which gives extra resistance to attempted removal.
Final Checks, Cleaning and Customer Handover
The KeySecure VICTOR Grade 2 (Size 1E) provides approximately 36 litres of internal storage and includes one adjustable shelf, giving the customer useful space for jewellery, documents and other valuables without requiring a particularly large cabinet.
Once the drilling and fixing work was complete, our installer cleaned the installation area, removed the drilling dust and other debris, showed the customer how to programme and operate the digital keypad and gave them their certificate of installation before leaving.

About Clapham Common, Lambeth and South London SW4
Clapham Common is one of South London’s best-known residential areas, centred around the large open space of the same name. The Common extends across parts of Lambeth and Wandsworth, while the SW4 area includes many homes on the Lambeth side of Clapham.
The neighbourhood contains a varied mixture of Georgian and Victorian houses, converted flats, mansion blocks and more modern apartments. Internal layouts can therefore vary considerably, particularly where bedrooms have fitted cupboards or other built-in storage.
Clapham Common itself covers more than 85 hectares and is one of London’s largest and oldest public open spaces. It sits between Clapham, Battersea and Balham and is owned and managed by Lambeth Council.
Bedroom cupboards can provide a discreet location for an insurance-rated safe, but the surrounding furniture should not be mistaken for the structural fixing surface. Where possible, the safe should be anchored through the cupboard and into a suitable wall or floor forming part of the building.
