Finding a Compact Eurograde 2 Safe for a Basement Office
Our customer in Covent Garden, Central London needed a certified Eurograde 2 digital safe with a recommended £17,500 cash and £175,000 valuables rating, with the safe to be installed in a basement office.
After discussing where the customer wanted the safe installed, the required level of protection and the customer’s preference of either a keylocking or digital safe , we recommended the KeySecure VICTOR Grade 2 (Size 1E) Digital Safe. Once the basement access route for delivery and final installation position had been agreed, we arranged delivery and professional installation at the customer’s Covent Garden premises.
109kg of Eurograde 2 Protection
The KeySecure VICTOR Grade 2 (Size 1E) measures 450mm high, 450mm wide and 465mm deep externally and weighs 109kg.
Internally, the safe measures 350mm high, 340mm wide and 305mm deep, providing approximately 36 litres of secure storage space.
One adjustable shelf allows the interior to be arranged around documents, cash, jewellery and other valuables, while the digital lock provides convenient access without the need for keys.
Anchored Through the Base into the Concrete Floor
The safe was positioned directly under a desk onto the basement floor in the corner of the office with suitable clearance around the door and digital keypad. As with all KeySecure VICTOR safes, this model has two pre-drilled fixing holes: one in the rear and one in the base.
For this installation, the base fixing point was used. Our installer drilled into the concrete floor, before installing an expanding anchor bolt through the pre-drilled base fixing hole and into the floor.
The anchor bolt when tightened grips into the concrete creating a very strong fixing point which is necessary for the Eurograde installation.
Digital Locking, Final Checks and Installation Certificate
The VICTOR Eurograde 2 safe uses a VdS Class 2 Wittkopp Primor electronic lock together with four-way locking and hinge-side protection. Its door can open through 180 degrees where the surrounding space provides sufficient clearance.
Once the safe had been fully installed, our installer checked that the safe was secure, stable and operating correctly before completing the handover and the customer was shown how to programme and use the digital keypad.
The installation area was then cleared of tools, drilling dust and debris. Our installer also gave the customer a certificate of installation confirming that the safe had been professionally fitted.
