An S2 Rated Digital Safe for an Under-Stair Cupboard
Our customer in Long Wittenham wanted a compact digital safe for jewellery, cash, documents and other household valuables, but needed something that would fit comfortably inside an existing under-stair cupboard. After discussing the available space and the level of security required, we recommended the Burton Safes Torino S2 Size 3E Digital Safe which was the ideal size for cupboard.
The Torino Size 3E is independently certified to EN14450 S2 and carries recommended insurance ratings of £4,000 for cash and £40,000 for valuables. Its relatively compact external dimensions also made it a good match for the available cupboard space.
Preparing the Safe for Four Rear Wall Fixings
The Burton Torino Size 3E has four pre-drilled fixing holes in the rear of the safe, and all four were used for this installation.
Once the safe had been positioned correctly inside the cupboard, our installer marked the four rear fixing points onto the wall. The safe was then moved clear so the fixing holes could be drilled accurately into the wall behind.
After drilling, the work area was cleaned and the safe was moved back into its final position ready for the expanding anchor bolts to be installed.
Four Expanding Anchor Bolts into the Wall
With the safe aligned in its final position, four heavy-duty expanding anchor bolts were passed through the four rear fixing holes and tightened into the wall behind the safe.
Using all four rear fixing points spread the fixing across the back of the safe and secured it firmly to the wall without the need for a separate base fixing on this particular installation.
Once tightened, the 47.5kg safe was securely anchored while remaining neatly contained within the under-stair storage space.
Finished, Cleaned and Ready to Use
The Burton Safes Torino S2 Size 3E provides 47 litres of internal storage and is supplied with one removable shelf, giving the customer useful space for everyday valuables and important items.
After the fixing work had been completed, our installer cleaned the cupboard and surrounding work area, removing drilling dust and installation debris.
The customer was then shown how to programme and operate the digital keypad, how to use the emergency override keys if ever required, and how to store the keys safely. Before leaving, our installer gave the customer their certificate of installation.
