Why the Burton Torino S2 Size 3E Was Recommended
London & Home Counties Safes recently supplied and professionally installed a Burton Safes Torino S2 Size 3E Digital Safe for a homeowner in Woking, Surrey GU21. The customer required an accessible home safe for jewellery, watches, cash, passports, important documents and other valuables, positioned within an existing storage area.
This model is independently tested and certified to EN 14450 S2 and is normally assigned a recommended insurance rating of £4,000 for cash or £40,000 for valuables. Customers should confirm the required security level, monetary rating and installation conditions with their own insurer before purchasing.
The Torino Size 3E measures 345mm high, 473mm wide and 355mm deep externally. Its internal dimensions are 330mm high, 460mm wide and 295mm deep, providing 47 litres of storage capacity. The safe weighs 47.5kg and includes one removable shelf. Click any photograph to view a larger version.
Safe Installed in an Accessible Storage Area
The safe was positioned within an accessible storage area, allowing the homeowner to use it conveniently while keeping it away from the main living spaces.
Its low, wide dimensions made effective use of the available position and provided sufficient clearance for the door and handle to operate normally.
Four Rear Wall Anchors and Four Laminate-Floor Fixings
We used all four pre-drilled rear fixing holes and installed four high-strength expanding anchors through the rear of the safe and into the wall behind it.
These four wall anchors provided the principal structural fixings and helped resist the safe being pulled or levered away from the wall.
Four additional screws were installed through the safe’s four base fixing holes and into the laminate flooring beneath it. These base fixings provided additional stability and helped keep the safe firmly positioned against the wall.
Together, the four rear wall anchors and four base screws created the original eight-point fixing arrangement used for this installation.
Removable Red Shelf and Digital Lock
The safe includes one removable shelf with a thick red-painted finish that does not scratch easily. It creates two practical storage levels for jewellery boxes, watches, passports, cash and important documents.
Electronic Lock Setup and Customer Handover
Once the physical installation was complete, we tidied the surrounding area and demonstrated the electronic keypad. We helped the customer programme their personal access code and showed them the normal locking and unlocking procedure.
We also demonstrated the emergency override keys and explained how to use the external battery-power point if the internal batteries become depleted. Override keys should be stored securely away from the safe rather than inside it.
The completed installation provided the homeowner with a spacious EN 14450 S2 security safe, professionally secured to the rear wall and laminate flooring using all eight available fixing points.

About Woking
Woking is a major Surrey town within the GU21 and GU22 postcode districts. The modern town developed substantially after the arrival of the railway in 1838, while the older settlement of Old Woking lies further south-east.
Woking Palace began as a medieval moated residence and later became associated with Lady Margaret Beaufort, Henry VII and Henry VIII. The surviving archaeological site includes moats, ruined structures and fishponds.
The Shah Jahan Mosque was built during the late nineteenth century and is recognised as Britain’s first purpose-built mosque. The Grade I-listed building has an important place in the history of Islam in Britain.
Woking also has a strong connection with H. G. Wells, who wrote The War of the Worlds while living in the town. Horsell Common and its sandpits appear in the novel as the landing place of the Martians.
Woking is an important Surrey service area for London & Home Counties Safes. We supply and professionally install home safes, jewellery safes and higher-security safes throughout Woking, Horsell, Knaphill, St John’s, Old Woking and surrounding GU21 areas.
