A Eurograde 1 Safe Recommended for a Bedroom Wardrobe
Our customer in Egham wanted a certified digital safe with a higher insurance rating for household valuables, while also keeping the safe discreetly out of immediate view. After discussing the level of protection required and the available space, we recommended the Securikey Euro Grade 1 - 1035N Digital Safe and the base of the bedroom wardrobe as the most suitable installation location.
This Euro Grade One safe is independently certified to EN 1143-1 Grade 1 and carries recommended insurance ratings of £10,000 for cash and £100,000 for valuables.
Once the final position had been agreed, our installer positioned the safe and made the markings for two different fixing methods: a structural rear anchor into the wall behind the wardrobe and an additional joinery fixing through the base into the wardrobe timber.
Rear Structural Fixing Through the Wardrobe Panel
The principal structural fixing for the Grade 1 safe was made through the rear of the safe and through the wardrobe back panel into the wall behind.
After the fixing position had been drilled, one heavy-duty expanding anchor bolt was installed through the rear fixing point. This connected the safe directly to the wall rather than relying on the wardrobe furniture itself for the main security fixing.
The wardrobe position kept the 85kg EuroGrade I safe neatly concealed while still allowing comfortable access to the digital keypad, door and internal shelf.
Additional Joinery Fixing Through the Safe Base
In addition to the rear wall anchor, the safe was fixed through its base into the wooden wardrobe base using one coach bolt.
This second fixing was a joinery fixing, meaning it secured the safe to the furniture rather than to the fabric of the building. It provided additional support and helped keep the Eurograde One safe firmly positioned within the wardrobe.
The Securikey 1035N provides 36 litres of internal storage, weighs 85kg and is supplied with one adjustable and removable shelf, giving useful storage capacity without requiring an especially large footprint.
Finished, Cleaned and Demonstrated
Once both fixings had been tightened, our installer cleaned any drilling dust or installation debris, leaving the bedroom wardrobe tidy and ready for use.
Finally, the customer was shown how to programme and operate the digital lock and was given their certificate of installation before our installer left.
