Finding a Compact Eurograde 1 Safe for a Hall Cupboard
Our customer in Eastbourne, East Sussex needed a certified Eurograde 1 digital safe with a recommended £10,000 cash and £100,000 valuables rating, but wanted it installed discreetly inside a hall cupboard.
After discussing the available cupboard space, safe rating and whether they wanted a keylocking or digital safe, we recommended the KeySecure VICTOR Grade 1 (Size 1E) Digital Safe. Its compact dimensions made it well suited to the hall cupboard while still providing practical storage for documents, jewellery and other smaller valuables.
Once the installation date and estimated arrival time had been agreed, we arranged delivery and professional installation at the customer’s property in Eastbourne in an unmarked van.
Compact Dimensions with 18 Litres of Storage
The KeySecure VICTOR Grade 1 (Size 1E) measures 400mm high, 400mm wide and 270mm deep externally and weighs 39kg.
Internally, it measures 350mm high, 341mm wide and 157mm deep, providing approximately 18 litres of secure storage space.
One adjustable shelf allows the interior to be arranged around passports, paperwork, jewellery and other valuables, while the digital lock provides convenient access.
Rear-Fixed to the Wall Inside the Cupboard
As with all KeySecure VICTOR safes, this model has two pre-drilled fixing holes: one in the rear and one in the base.
After drilling through the cupboard rear panel and into the wall the principal fixing was made through the rear fixing hole and into the wall, securing the safe to the fabric of the building in line with insurance requirements.
This structural wall fixing ensured that the safe was anchored to the building itself rather than relying solely on the cupboard joinery, this acts as the main fixing point.
Supporting Joinery Fix and Digital Handover
In addition to the rear wall fixing, a joinery fixing was also installed through the base fixing hole into the shelf of the cupboard, providing additional support at floor level.
The VICTOR Eurograde 1 safe uses a VdS Class 2 Wittkopp Primor electronic lock together with four-way locking and hinge-side protection, and its door can open to 180 degrees where the surrounding cupboard allows sufficient clearance.
After completing the installation, our installer cleared away the installation debris and his tools before showing the customer how to programme and operate the digital keypad. Our installer also gave the customer a certificate of installation, which they could show to the insurers or keep for their records.
