We completed a specialized security installation in the scenic area of Pulborough, located in West Sussex (RH20). Our client had a specific requirement for a home security solution that could be tucked away in a low-level space while remaining easily accessible. We recommended the Highgate Top Loading Digital Safe, a clever alternative to traditional front-opening models. This safe is an ideal choice for residential properties where space might be tight or where the owner prefers a drawer-style access. Despite its compact and discreet design, it offers reliable protection for daily essentials like passports, luxury watches, and smaller electronic devices.

For this Pulborough safe installation, we utilized a recessed area at the base of a cupboard, which allowed the safe to sit low and out of sight. To ensure it was as secure as a standard upright model, we performed a professional safe bolt-down through the base of the unit into the concrete floor using a high-strength anchoring bolt. This top-loading safe features motorized locking bolts and a gas-spring assisted lid, meaning it opens smoothly with minimal effort once the correct code is entered. The illuminated blue LED keypad is a great touch for dark cupboards, and the internal LED light makes it easy to see your valuables against the red felt-lined interior.

Once the unit was firmly anchored and tested, we spent some time with the homeowner to demonstrate the digital locking mechanism and the "guest code" and "master code" functions. We walked through how to set a secure 4-to-6 digit PIN and explained the use of the emergency override key, which ensures you are never locked out if the batteries fail. We always make sure to tidy up after ourselves, leaving the installation site ready for immediate use. Pulborough is a large, rural village located in West Sussex, situated within the RH20 postcode district. It occupies a strategic position at the confluence of the River Arun and River Rother, sitting on the northern edge of the South Downs National Park. The village is approximately 50 miles south of London and serves as a vital gateway to the surrounding countryside. It is exceptionally well-connected for its size, with Pulborough Train Station - Southern Railway providing direct rail services to London Victoria and the south coast, while the A29 and A283 roads intersect at the heart of the village. Stopham Bridge The history of the area is deeply rooted in the Roman occupation of Britain, as it was a significant settlement along the route of Stane Street, the great Roman road connecting Chichester to London. Archaeological evidence suggests the area was a bustling hub of Roman activity for nearly four centuries, featuring a garrison, a temple, and several large villas. By the time of the Domesday Book in 1086, the village was recorded as "Poleberge," meaning a pool at the foot of a rounded hill. In the medieval period, the village’s importance grew as a river port and market town, marked by the construction of the Stopham Bridge in 1309, which remains one of the finest medieval bridges in the county. The oldest standing part of the village is the 13th-century chancel of Arun Valley.
