A Larger Eurograde 1 Safe for a Twickenham Home
Our customer in Twickenham wanted a larger high-security digital safe with an insurance rating suitable for protecting valuable household items, but they also wanted the large safe kept discreetly out of sight. After discussing the available positions, we recommended the De Raat DRS Prisma Grade 1 (Size 4E) Digital Safe and the bedroom wardrobe as the most practical installation location with an ideal height.
This Euro Grade One safe carries recommended insurance ratings of £10,000 for cash and £100,000 for valuables. At 106kg with 109 litres of internal capacity, it gives considerably more storage than a compact domestic safe while still fitting neatly within the available wardrobe space.
The wardrobe position also allowed our installer to use the solid brick wall behind the rear panel as the main structural fixing point, while the timber wardrobe base could provide an additional joinery fixing through the base of the safe.
Rear Anchoring Through the Wardrobe into Brickwork
Once the Grade 1 safe had been positioned and fixing points marked, our installer placed the safe away from the work area and drilled through the wardrobe back panel into the brick wall behind.
After removing the drill dust and repositioning the safe, a heavy-duty expanding anchor bolt was then installed through the rear fixing point of the safe, through the wardrobe rear panel and into the brickwork. This provided the principal structural fixing directly to the fabric of the building.
Additional Joinery Fixing Through the Safe Base
The EuroGrade I safe was also secured through its base to the wooden wardrobe floor using a coach bolt. This was an additional joinery fixing into the furniture rather than a fixing into the structure of the building.
Combining the rear masonry anchor with the base coach bolt helped keep the 106kg safe firmly positioned within the wardrobe and provided additional stability at floor level.
The finished De Raat DRS Prisma Size 4E provides 109 litres of internal storage with one shelf. Its external dimensions are 950mm high, 420mm wide and 445mm deep, making it a useful larger-capacity Eurograde 1 safe for domestic storage.
Finished, Cleaned and Demonstrated
After installation our installer cleaned the area thoroughly of all drilling dust and installation debris.
Finally, the customer was shown how to programme and operate the digital lock, and our installer made sure they were comfortable using their new Eurograde One safe before giving them their certificate of installation.

About Twickenham, Greater London TW2
