Highgate Drawer Size 2 Digital Safe Installed in a Wardrobe in Westminster, Central London
(case study 02613)
Why the Highgate Drawer Size 2 Was Recommended
London & Home Counties Safes supplied and professionally installed a Highgate Drawer Size 2 Digital Safe for a customer in Westminster, Central London SW1A.
The customer was primarily concerned about casual or opportunistic access by guests, staff and other visitors to the property rather than a targeted burglary.
They therefore wanted a compact safe that was unobtrusive, secure, stylish and capable of blending neatly with the surrounding wardrobe furniture.
The property was within a large residential apartment building with a concierge and 24-hour security. The customer wanted the safe to provide an additional layer of protection inside the home.
The Highgate Drawer Size 2 has a recommended security rating of £1,500 for cash or £15,000 for valuables. Customers should confirm the required monetary rating and installation conditions with their own insurer before purchasing.
Compact Drawer-Opening Design
The customer did not want a large conventional safe with a hinged door. They preferred a drawer-style design that could be pulled open and integrated with the wardrobe furniture.
The Highgate Drawer Size 2 was selected because its horizontal format suited the available space and provided access from the front through a pull-out drawer.
The safe measures 200mm high, 510mm wide and 380mm deep externally. Its internal dimensions are 140mm high, 405mm wide and 305mm deep, providing 17 litres of storage capacity. The safe weighs 18kg and has an open drawer interior without a shelf.
Integrated with the Customer’s Wardrobe
The safe was professionally positioned and installed within the wardrobe arrangement.
Its horizontal proportions and pull-out drawer allowed it to sit naturally alongside the surrounding fitted furniture.
The finished position kept the safe unobtrusive while allowing the customer to pull the drawer open and access the contents conveniently.
Illuminated Electronic Keypad and Emergency Key
The safe has a 2mm electrically welded solid-steel body and a 4mm-thick drawer front secured by 20mm hardened-steel locking bolts.
It is operated using an illuminated electronic keypad with a personal access code. The automatic internal light improves visibility when the drawer is opened.
A soft foam insert helps protect watches, jewellery and other smaller valuables from scratches while stored inside the safe.
An emergency override key provides an alternative means of opening the lock if the batteries become depleted or the personal code is unavailable. The override key should be stored securely away from the safe rather than inside it.
Completed Safe Installation in Westminster SW1A
The completed installation blended neatly with the wardrobe and provided the discreet drawer-style access the customer had requested.
The drawer safe provided a practical additional layer of protection against casual and opportunistic access within the home.
The customer was very pleased with both the appearance of the safe and the way it integrated with the surrounding furniture.

About Westminster and Whitehall SW1A
Whitehall and Westminster form part of Central London’s historic government district. The SW1A postcode contains government offices, residential properties and buildings representing several centuries of London’s architectural development.
The area developed around the former Palace of Whitehall. Henry VIII acquired York House from Cardinal Wolsey in 1530 and expanded the complex into a major royal residence stretching between St James’s Park and the River Thames.
Whitehall Palace remained an official royal residence until much of it was destroyed by fire in 1698. The surrounding district continued to develop as an important centre of government and civic administration.
Westminster and Whitehall are important Central London service areas for London & Home Counties Safes. We supply and professionally install drawer safes, home safes and higher-security models throughout Westminster, Whitehall, St James’s, Victoria and surrounding SW1 districts.
