KeySecure VICTOR Grade 1 (Size 2E) Digital Safe Installed in Buckinghamshire

(case study 03394)

Finding a Compact Eurograde 1 Safe for a Mirror-Doored Wardrobe

Our customer in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire needed a certified Eurograde 1 digital safe with a recommended £10,000 cash and £100,000 valuables rating, but wanted it installed discreetly inside an existing mirror-doored wardrobe.

After discussing the available wardrobe space, the required safe insurance rating and the customer’s preference for a safe with a digital lock, we recommended the KeySecure VICTOR Grade 1 (Size 2E) Digital Safe. Its compact dimensions made it well suited to the proposed position while still providing 36 litres of secure internal storage.

Once the safe and final wardrobe position had been agreed, we arranged delivery and professional installation at the customer’s property in Aylesbury.

36 Litres of Secure Storage

The KeySecure VICTOR Grade 1 (Size 2E) measures 400mm high, 420mm wide and 420mm deep externally and weighs 55kg.

Internally, it measures 350mm high, 361mm wide and 307mm deep, providing approximately 36 litres of secure storage space.

One adjustable shelf allows the interior to be arranged around jewellery boxes, documents and other valuables, the shelf can also be removed if you prefer having the full internal capacity of the safe.

Rear-Anchored to the Wall Behind the Wardrobe

The safe was positioned inside the wardrobe with suitable clearance for the safe door and digital keypad from the sliding wardrobe door. As with all KeySecure VICTOR safes, this model has two pre-drilled fixing holes: one in the rear and one in the base.

The principal fixing was installed through the rear fixing hole and into the wall behind the wardrobe, securing the safe to the fabric of the building rather than relying on the wardrobe itself. A hole was drilled through the wardrobe rear panel and into the brick wall behind, once the safe was aligned - a heavy duty expanding anchor bolt was fitted through the rear fixing hole and into wall.

This set up allowed the safe to remain discreetly concealed behind the mirrored wardrobe doors while still benefiting from a proper structural wall fixing.

Additional Timber-Floor Fixing and Digital Handover

In addition to the rear wall fixing, the safe was also secured through its pre-drilled base fixing hole and through the carpet into the wooden floor beneath using a heavy duty screw, providing an additional supporting fixing at floor level.

The VICTOR Eurograde 1 safe uses a VdS Class 2 Wittkopp Primor electronic lock together with four-way locking and hinge-side protection, and its door can open to 180 degrees where the surrounding wardrobe provides sufficient clearance.

After completing the installation, our installer cleared away all of the tools and cleaned up the installation area before showing the customer how to programme, operate and maintain the digital keypad. Our installer also gave the customer a certificate of installation.

About Aylesbury and Buckinghamshire HP22

Aylesbury is the county town of Buckinghamshire and a major residential and commercial centre serving the surrounding area. Homes across Aylesbury and the wider HP22 postcode include modern houses, period properties, flats and newer developments, so access routes and suitable safe installation positions can differ considerably from one property to another.

Fitted wardrobes can provide a discreet location for a safe where there is enough room for the cabinet itself, suitable clearance for the safe door and keypad, and access to a structural wall or floor fixing point.

Mirror-doored wardrobes are particularly effective at keeping a safe out of normal sight, but the surrounding furniture should not be treated as the principal means of securing an insurance-rated safe. The installation still needs a suitable structural fixing into the building itself.

Safe deliveries in Aylesbury can involve stairs, narrow hallways, fitted furniture and restricted turning space. Confirming the complete delivery route and the final wardrobe dimensions before installation helps reduce the risk of access or clearance problems.

Where a safe is rear-fixed through a wardrobe position into a suitable wall, the structural fixing secures the cabinet to the building. An additional fixing through the base into a timber floor can provide further support where appropriate.

It is also important to make sure the safe door and digital keypad can be used comfortably once the wardrobe doors are open, especially where mirrored or sliding wardrobe doors restrict the available operating space.

London & Home Counties Safes supplies and professionally installs Eurograde 1, Eurograde 2, Eurograde 3 and other certified safes throughout Aylesbury, HP22 and Buckinghamshire. Each installation can be planned around the safe’s dimensions and weight, the property access route and the available structural fixing surfaces.
