Grade 1 Safe Installed in a Basement Utility Cupboard
London & Home Counties Safes supplied and professionally installed a KeySecure VICTOR Grade 1 (Size 6E) Digital Safe in Millbank, the City of Westminster, Central London.
The safe was positioned inside a utility cupboard in the basement, providing a discreet location for a tall, high-capacity certified safe.
The KeySecure VICTOR is independently tested and ECB-S certified to EN 1143-1 Grade 1, with a recommended insurance rating of £10,000 for cash or £100,000 for valuables.
148 Litres of Internal Storage
The safe measures 1150mm high, 500mm wide and 420mm deep externally and weighs 135kg.
Its internal dimensions are 1100mm high, 441mm wide and 307mm deep, providing approximately 148 litres of storage.
Two adjustable shelves divide the tall interior into practical storage levels and can be repositioned or removed to accommodate larger items.
Anchored into the Concrete Floor
The safe was bolted through its base and into the concrete floor using an approved high-strength expanding anchor bolt.
This base anchor provided the principal structural connection between the safe and the building.
The safe was brought forward slightly so that its rear surface did not touch the boiler pipes behind it, preserving a safe clearance while keeping the installation compact.
Electronic Lock and Four-Way Boltwork
The KeySecure VICTOR Grade 1 (Size 6E) is fitted with a VdS Class 2 Wittkopp Primor electronic lock for convenient keyless access.
Four-way locking protects the door, including an overlapping profile along the hinge side, and the door can open through approximately 180 degrees where the surrounding space permits.
After installation, our installer cleaned and tidied the installation area and then showed the customer how to go about programming their own PIN for the digital lock keypad.

About Millbank, the City of Westminster and Central London
Millbank is a prominent Thames-side district in the southern part of the City of Westminster. Its Central London position places it between the wider Westminster, Pimlico and Victoria areas, with the River Thames forming a defining part of the local landscape. The district combines residential buildings, government and institutional premises, cultural destinations and established mansion-block developments.
Much of Millbank forms part of the Millbank Conservation Area. The area has a distinctive architectural character created by several different periods of development, including mid-19th-century terraces, late-Victorian and Edwardian buildings, riverside development and the red-brick Arts and Crafts mansion blocks of the Millbank Estate.
Millbank’s history is closely connected with the former Millbank Penitentiary, which occupied a large riverside site during the 19th century. After the prison was demolished, the area was redeveloped and became home to major cultural, residential and institutional buildings. The outline of the present conservation area broadly reflects the historic prison site.
Tate Britain is one of Millbank’s best-known landmarks and forms part of the district’s important cultural and architectural setting. The nearby Millbank Estate was built around the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century and is recognised as an important early example of large-scale local-authority housing, with a collection of listed Arts and Crafts buildings.
The north bank of the Thames gives Millbank an open riverside character, with views towards Lambeth and connections towards Westminster, Pimlico and Vauxhall. Nearby green spaces include Riverside Walk Gardens and Victoria Tower Gardens, while the Thames Embankment provides an important pedestrian route through this part of Central London.
Millbank is well placed for access to the wider City of Westminster, including Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Victoria, Pimlico and the West End. Local transport includes bus routes, nearby Underground stations and river services from Millbank Millennium Pier, supporting both residential and commercial activity throughout the district.
Properties in Millbank and the surrounding Westminster area range from historic mansion blocks and listed buildings to modern apartments, converted premises, offices and institutional buildings. Safe delivery and installation in this part of Central London can require careful planning around controlled access, basement routes, lifts, stairways, service cupboards, restricted loading arrangements and the protection of finished interiors.
London & Home Counties Safes supplies and professionally installs home safes, digital safes, jewellery safes and certified Eurograde safes throughout Millbank, Westminster, Pimlico, Victoria and surrounding Central London areas. Each proposed installation can be assessed for access, available space, safe weight, door clearance and suitable structural fixing points.
