KeySecure VICTOR Grade 3 (Size 2E) Digital Safe Installed in Dorchester
(case study 03414)
Finding a Eurograde 3 Safe for a Hall Cupboard
Our customer in Dorchester, Dorset needed a certified Eurograde 3 digital safe with a recommended £35,000 cash and £350,000 valuables rating, but wanted it installed discreetly inside an existing hall cupboard.
After discussing with the client where they wanted the safe installed, we recommended the KeySecure VICTOR Grade 3 (Size 2E) Digital Safe. Its 60-litre interior offered useful storage capacity while the Eurograde 3 certification provided the higher level of insurance-rated protection the customer required.
Once the size of safe and installation position had been agreed, we arranged delivery and professional installation at the customer’s property in Dorchester.
A 239kg High-Security Safe with 60 Litres of Storage
The KeySecure VICTOR Grade 3 (Size 2E) measures 550mm high, 550mm wide and 465mm deep externally and weighs 239kg.
Internally, the safe measures 450mm high, 440mm wide and 305mm deep, providing approximately 60 litres of secure storage space.
One adjustable shelf allows the interior to be arranged around jewellery boxes, important documents and other valuables, while the digital keypad lock allows for simple access without worrying about keys.
Anchored Through the Base into the Concrete Floor
The safe was positioned inside the hall cupboard with enough space for the safe keypad and handle to not make contact with the wooden cupboard door. As with all KeySecure VICTOR safes, this model has two pre-drilled fixing holes: one in the rear and one in the base.
For this installation, the base fixing point provided the most suitable route into the structure of the building. After measuring, our installer drilled into the concrete floor, then positioned the safe and installed an expanding anchor bolt through the pre-drilled base fixing hole.
This secured the 239kg safe directly to the concrete floor, providing a substantial structural fixing while allowing the safe to remain neatly concealed within the hall cupboard.
Digital Lock, Fire Protection and Installation Handover
This safe uses a VdS Class 2 Wittkopp Primor electronic lock together with four-way locking and hinge-side protection. The Keysecure VICTOR Euro Grade 3 safe range also provides 30 minutes of fire protection (unlike Eurograde 1 & 2 of the same model).
Once the anchoring work had been completed, our installer double checked that the safe door operated freely within the cupboard and that the installation position remained practical for everyday use and that the safe door didn't make contact with the cupboard door.
Our installer then cleared away all tools, drilling dust and installation debris before showing the customer how to operate and maintain the digital keypad. Our installer also gave the customer a certificate of installation which shows all of the details of the safe installation.

About Dorchester and Dorset DT2
Dorchester is the historic county town of Dorset and serves as an important residential, commercial and administrative centre for the surrounding area. The town and nearby DT2 postcode contain a varied mixture of period houses, converted properties, modern homes and rural properties, so access routes and suitable safe installation positions can differ considerably.
Dorchester is closely associated with the writer Thomas Hardy and appears as the fictional town of Casterbridge in several of his works. The town also provides access to the wider Dorset countryside and the Jurassic Coast.
Hall cupboards can provide a discreet and practical location for a safe where there is enough room for the cabinet itself, sufficient operating clearance for the door and keypad, and access to a suitable structural floor or wall fixing point.
Safe deliveries in Dorchester and the surrounding DT2 area can involve steps, narrow hallways, older properties and more rural access routes. Confirming the complete delivery route and final cupboard dimensions before installation is particularly important with a heavy Eurograde safe such as this 239kg model.
Where a solid concrete floor is available beneath the chosen position, anchoring through the base can provide a strong structural fixing. The anchor should secure the safe to the building itself rather than relying on cupboard joinery or floor coverings.
It is also important to check the available door clearance, keypad access and the condition of the floor beneath the cupboard before installation. Careful planning helps ensure that a high-security safe remains both securely fixed and practical to use.
London & Home Counties Safes supplies and professionally installs Eurograde 1, Eurograde 2, Eurograde 3 and other certified safes throughout Dorchester, DT2 and Dorset. Each installation can be planned around the safe’s dimensions and weight, the property access route and the available structural fixing surfaces.
