Bloomsbury 40K Size 2 Digital Safe Fitted in Hatfield
(case study 02075)
Here we have another safe installation that we did in the prestigious Brookmans Park area of Hatfield, Hertfordshire (AL9). For this project, the client chose the Bloomsbury 40K (Size 2) Digital Safe, a high-quality unit known for its robust construction and user-friendly interface. This model is EN 14450 S2 insurance approved, providing certified protection for up to £4,000 in cash or £40,000 in valuables, making it a perfect choice for securing passports, luxury watches, and essential family documents.
As shown in the pictures, the safe was neatly integrated into a white shelving unit within a fitted wardrobe. This placement is ideal for residents who want their security measures to remain completely out of sight while maintaining easy access for daily use. The Bloomsbury 40K features a striking red shelved interior and a carpet on the base which provides a protective surface for delicate items like jewellery.
To ensure the installation met the highest security and insurance standards, we utilized a professional dual-anchoring method. Despite being housed on a shelf within a wardrobe, the safe is an immovable fixture; we secured it to the rear solid wall using four heavy-duty expanding anchor bolts and reinforced the fitting with four security screws through the base fixing holes into the wardrobe shelving. This combination prevents the safe from being easily levered or removed, ensuring the "bolt-down" requirement of the S2 rating is fully satisfied.
Once the physical fitting was complete, we performed a thorough handover with the client. We demonstrated the operation of the digital electronic keypad and demonstrated how to set their personalized access code. We also explained the use of the emergency override keys, ensuring the homeowner felt 100% confident in their new home security upgrade. Brookmans Park is an upscale village located in the Welwyn Hatfield district of Hertfordshire, situated approximately 20 miles north of central London. Falling within the AL9 postcode district, it is nestled between the larger towns of Hatfield to the north and Potters Bar to the south. The village is famously convenient for commuters, centred around its own railway station which provides direct and frequent services into London King's Cross and Moorgate. For those traveling by road, it sits in a strategic pocket just east of the A1(M) and a short drive north of the M25 motorway, offering a peaceful, semi-rural setting that remains tightly connected to the capital. The village takes its name from the Brookman family, who held the local manor in the 14th century. For most of its history, the area was dominated by grand estates, most notably the Brookmans estate and the neighbouring Gobions estate. The latter was once owned by the family of Sir Thomas More, the Tudor statesman and author. The transformation from a collection of private manors into a residential village began in the early 1920s when the land was sold for development. It was designed as a high-quality commuter settlement, featuring the spacious detached houses and green verges that define its character today. One of the most significant 20th-century developments was the establishment of the Brookmans Park Transmitting Station in the 1920s; its massive masts became a local landmark and played a pivotal role in the early history of the BBC, being the site of the first regional dual-program broadcasting in the world. The primary draw for visitors to Brookmans Park is its exceptional access to nature and historic parkland. Gobions Wood, managed by the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust, is a local treasure that occupies the site of a 17th-century pleasure garden. Visitors can still find remnants of the original landscaping, including ornamental lakes and the impressive Folly Arch, a 18th-century structure that originally served as a grand entrance to the estate. The village is also a popular starting point for walkers and cyclists exploring the wider North Mymms countryside, with paths leading toward the historic North Mymms Park. The village centre itself, known as "The Village," offers a curated selection of independent shops, high-end butchers, and traditional pubs like The Brookmans, which serves as a social hub for the community. For golf enthusiasts, the Brookmans Park Golf Club offers a challenging course set within beautiful undulating parkland, maintaining the area's reputation for leisure and quiet luxury.
