Brattonsound Sentinel Plus SS7+ Gun Safe Fitted in North West London

We were asked to carry out a high-security gun safe installation in the Regent's Park area of North West London (NW1). The client opted for the Brattonsound Sentinel Plus SS7+, a premier choice for serious collectors that accommodates up to seven shotguns or rifles. As you can see in the photos, this model features a reinforced vault-style door and an internal foam divider to protect barrels from scratching, ensuring the installation meets the rigorous BS 7558/92 national standard required for police certification.

Precision was key to this fitting, as firearms legislation mandates that safes must be secured to the "fabric of the building" without gaps. To achieve a perfectly flush fit against the structural wall, we trimmed the skirting board on the left-hand side, as you can see at the bottom of the first photo. This technical adjustment eliminates any potential leverage points, a detail that Firearms Officers scrutinize during home inspections to ensure the unit cannot be easily compromised or pried away from the wall.

The physical security of the unit is exceptionally high, utilizing a total of six independent anchoring points. We employed the four rear fixing holes to bolt the safe directly into the masonry wall using strong expanding bolts and utilized the two base fixing holes to secure it with heavy duty screws firmly into the floor. This dual-axis professional safe bolt-down creates an incredibly rigid mount. The safe is locked via a 7-lever double-bitted key system. The NW1 postcode district is one of London’s most prominent and diverse areas, encompassing the vast expanse of Regent’s Park as well as parts of Marylebone, Euston, Somers Town, and Camden Town. Geographically, it sits at the northern edge of Central London, acting as a gateway between the West End and the northern suburbs. The area is anchored by three major railway termini—Marylebone, Euston, and St Pancras International/King’s Cross—making it one of the best-connected districts in the world. Several Underground stations, including Regent’s Park, Baker Street, and Great Portland Street, provide seamless access to the Bakerloo, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Circle, and Hammersmith & City lines. The area’s identity was fundamentally transformed in the early 19th century by the Prince Regent (later King George IV) and his architect, John Nash. What was once the medieval Marylebone Park—a royal hunting ground—was reimagined as a sophisticated "garden city" for the aristocracy. Nash designed the park itself along with the magnificent white-stucco "Terraces" that ring its perimeter, creating one of the finest examples of Regency architecture in Britain. During the Victorian era, the district became a hub of scientific and cultural advancement; the Zoological Society of London established the world's first scientific zoo here in 1828. Simultaneously, the southern and eastern edges of NW1 were shaped by the Industrial Revolution, as the arrival of the canal and the great railway stations turned the area into a vital logistics and transport artery for the British Empire. The focal point of the district is Regent’s Park, a Grade I listed Royal Park that houses the world-famous ZSL London Zoo and the stunning Queen Mary’s Gardens, which feature over 12,000 roses. The park is also home to the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, one of the most celebrated outdoor performance spaces in the country. To the north of the park lies Primrose Hill, offering a famous panoramic view of the London skyline. On the district’s southern fringe, visitors flock to Baker Street to see the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madame Tussauds. The eastern side of NW1 is dominated by the British Library, the national library of the UK, which houses treasures like the Magna Carta and original Beatles lyrics. For those seeking a more alternative atmosphere, the northern boundary leads into the vibrant Camden Market, while the Regent’s Canal provides a scenic walking and cycling route that connects the majestic architecture of the park to the industrial heritage of the Docklands.
