This was a bespoke safe installation for a client in Kensington (W8), one of West London’s most prestigious residential areas. For this installation, the homeowner required a specialized setup involving two separate safes, leading to the selection of two Sussex Grade 1 (Size 1) Digital Safes. As Eurograde 1 insurance-approved units, each safe is certified to protect up to £10,000 in cash or £100,000 in valuables. This dual-safe configuration is an excellent home security upgrade for households where two people require private, independent access to their own cash, valuables or documents.

As seen in the photos, we utilized a stacked configuration to maximize vertical space within a fitted cupboard. This arrangement, provides a clean, organized look while keeping the safes at a convenient height for daily use. By stacking the units, we ensured the client received double the high-security storage capacity without doubling the footprint required in their utility area. Despite the compact size of these Euro Grade one safes, their security is uncompromising.

For the bottom safe, we utilized a professional dual-point anchoring system to meet strict insurance requirements. We used the pre-drilled fixing hole in the rear to anchor the bottom safe directly into the solid masonry wall using an expanding heavy-duty bolt, while the base fixing hole was used to screw the bottom safe firmly to the supporting shelf. This multi-surface anchoring ensured that the bottom safe was integrated into the property’s structure, providing formidable resistance against any removal attempt. The top safe was also fixed to the wall with a high strength expanding anchor bolt, after drilling into the wall. This also made the top safe securely fixed to the fabric of the building.

After the physical installation was secured, we conducted a comprehensive handover for both the safes. As shown in the bottom photo, we opened the safes to demonstrate the internal shelving and the high-security locking mechanisms. We then assisted the client in programming separate, personalized codes for the digital electronic locks, ensuring they were comfortable with the operational procedures for both units. The W8 postcode district covers the prestigious and central neighbourhood of Kensington, situated within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in West London. It is bordered by Notting Hill to the north, Earl's Court to the south, and the sprawling greenery of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park to the east. To the west lies the serene Holland Park. The neighbourhood is anchored by Kensington High Street, one of London's most iconic commercial thoroughfares. It is exceptionally well-connected; the High Street Kensington Underground station provides access to the Circle and District lines, while the nearby Notting Hill Gate and South Kensington stations offer further links via the Central and Piccadilly lines, making it a focal point for both locals and international visitors. Kensington’s origins are recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as "Chenesitun," originally a quiet agrarian manor. Its transformation into a royal enclave began in 1689 when King William III purchased Nottingham House—now Kensington Palace—seeking the "cleaner air" of the west to alleviate his asthma. This royal patronage triggered a massive shift, as aristocrats and courtiers built grand townhouses nearby to stay close to the monarch. In 1901, the borough was granted the title of "Royal" in honour of Queen Victoria, who was born and raised at the palace. The 19th century saw further refinement with the development of the Phillimore and Edwardes estates, creating the stucco-fronted villas and secluded garden squares that remain some of the most expensive real estate in the world today. The primary cultural landmark of the district is Kensington Palace, which serves as both a historic museum and a working royal residence; visitors can explore the State Apartments and the surrounding Sunken Garden. For those seeking tranquillity, Holland Park offers a unique retreat, featuring the Kyoto Garden—a stunning Japanese-style tiered waterfall and koi pond—and the ruins of the historic Holland House. On the southern edge of the park sits the Design Museum, a masterpiece of contemporary architecture housed in the former Commonwealth Institute. Shopping in W8 is cantered on Kensington High Street, which offers a sophisticated blend of high-end brands and the famous Whole Foods Market (housed in the historic Barkers building). Art lovers often visit Leighton House, the former home and studio of Victorian artist Frederic, Lord Leighton, which is world-renowned for its breath-taking Arab Hall and intricate mosaic work.
